What data is collected and how is it used?
When you visit the site we issue a "cookie" or unique code that allows us to identify your computer. The cookie contains no personally identifying information and is used to note the different eContact and partner services recently accessed through your computer.
To sign up you need to provide us with your name, email address and password for authentication purposes. The email address may be used to send you information about your account and our promotions. You may elect not to receive such promotions.
When you sign up, the "cookie" for your machine will be combined with the personal information you give when you sign up and with any additional information you give to interact with our services subsequently. For example, in order to access our transactional services we require amongst other things information such as your billing address.
If you use a eContact transactional service, our partner merchants will let us know details of the products or services bought or requested. This is done automatically through software we put on the partner website. We do this in order to understand what our users are buying, to develop our service and to promote our partners more effectively.
We may on occasions ask you to provide additional personal information about yourself such as your date of birth, gender, and/or mobile telephone number to enable you to participate in a competition or survey. eContact stores cookie information for approximately three months. Other information is stored for longer in order to manage our service efficiently. For example it would not be practical for us to store users' email addresses and passwords for only three months.
As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy partners or assets. In such transactions customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets. In the event that eContact or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will be one of the transferred assets.
Do we disclose information we collect to third parties?
Only in very limited circumstances. We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. We do provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic and related information to third parties but these statistics include no personally identifying information.
We may employ other companies and individuals to work on our behalf. Examples include sending email, analysing data and providing customer service. Such agents have access to the personal information needed to perform their functions but may not use it for other purposes.
We may ask our market research partners to contact you by telephone as part of a survey of our services. You will be able to choose at the time whether or not you want to take part in that survey.
If you use a eContact transactional service, we will pass information necessary to complete the order to the partner merchant. Such information will typically include name, address and billing details.
If you use some of our services you should be aware that they are operated in conjunction with third parties to whom we transfer your personal information in order to provide any product or service you request.

Advertisers and advertising agencies that serve adverts onto the site may also attach their own cookies to your computer. In themselves, these cookies will contain no personally identifying information. If you want to find out about how these companies use these cookies, please refer to the privacy policies found on their websites.
